This policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use at OtterStorage, their purpose, and how you can manage them. The use of cookies that are not strictly necessary is based on your consent, in line with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the ePrivacy rules. For the processing of personal data, see also our Privacy policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. They make the site work, remember your preferences, or measure how it is used. Alongside them we use similar technologies (such as the browser's local storage), which we refer to here generically as "cookies".
2. How we use cookies
By default, we only enable strictly necessary storage. Analytics and marketing cookies stay off until you accept them. To do this we use Google Consent Mode v2: our tags load through Google Tag Manager in a "denied" state and only switch to "granted" when you give consent in the cookie notice.
3. Types of cookies we use
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Basic site functionality and remembering your cookie choice. | os-consent (local storage) | Not required |
| Analytics | Measure traffic and understand how the site is used, in aggregate, to improve it. | Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager (e.g. _ga) | Requires your consent |
| Marketing | Measure campaigns and show relevant content, should we enable them. | Third-party tags managed by Google Tag Manager | Requires your consent |
The exact list of cookies may change as the site evolves. We will keep this table up to date with relevant changes.
4. Managing your consent
You can accept or reject non-necessary cookies in the notice shown on your first visit, and change your choice at any time here:
If you reject, no analytics or marketing cookies will load. Your choice is stored in your browser; if you clear it or use another device, we will ask again.
5. Disabling them in your browser
You can also configure or block cookies from your browser settings. Note that blocking necessary cookies may affect how the site works. See your browser's help: Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge.
6. More information
To learn how we process your personal data and what rights you have, see our Privacy policy and, if you are a customer, the Data Processing Agreement (DPA).
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this cookie policy. We will publish the current version on this page with its update date.
